Best of the Best Program and Professors I did a 4-week combination program at Coeur de France and I was very impressed with the teaching methodology, diversity of learning opportunities (classroom and social), and warmth and friendliness of the professors and other staff. I am a working adult taking a brief career sabbatical--I decided to invest in my language skills and I am very happy with the improvements I made in both my grammar knowledge of French and my speaking skills. This experience allowed me to meet some incredible people with common interests, as well as learn more about the Loire valley, wine making, French culture and more! I think this is a terrific program for people of all ages and language levels. I am hoping to go back for another few weeks!

Very satisfying French language experience Did a two week stay at Coeur de France with 1 on 1 language instruction. Very positive. The building was classic. We stayed in the “Margeaux” apartment, which was a large and well-equipped apartment. The kitchen was a bit outdated but we didn’t go there for a 21rst century kitchen. It did the job. Everything was clean and in working order. Had one main teacher who was very good, caring, and patient. I highly recommend this school.

Great school On a whim, we decided to go to Sancerre for 4 weeks (20 hour group class and 3 privates a week) in November. It is a very quiet time to be in this small & charming village that has seen better days, but is, even so, alive and kicking. We decided to go without a car in order to confine ourselves and not permit our time to degenerate into touristing. The off season environment made the business of learning french our primary activity/ focus which is what we wanted. We had an intellectually demanding & challenging classroom experience and we learned, unexpectedly, a great deal of French. For the first time, I began to grasp the structure and scaffolding of the language and this will, I know, prove to be very helpful to me in the future. The school is very well managed and our curriculum and materials were excellent. The 3 teachers assigned to us, over the course of our 4 weeks, were superb and each one brought their unique gifts and perspectives. We found all of them to be some of the best teachers we have ever experienced. The owners of the school are quite invested in the success of the school and are committed to it’s well being. It is not a fly by night organization and there is a real effort to ensure that you will actually learn french if you want to. I found the owners pleasant, approachable and responsive. I appreciated the options available for activities and the option to not do them as well. It was quite helpful that there were a wide variety of apartments available to us. It really did mean that we could relax into our primary business of learning French. The two apartments we stayed in were exceptionally clean & comfortable with good working kitchens and laundry facilities. The owners were very quick to resolve any issues or needs (a sharp knife, a new frying pan, a toilet issue). The kitchens were well stocked and we were able to cook some fine meals. Unlike some reviewers, we did not find these apartments to be like college living or camping - these apartments were way above any college housing we ever had and we were truly quite comfortable for our 4 week stay. We expect to return for another 4 week course soon

French revision Excellent course. I was only able to attend one week, but none the less revised my French grammar and improved my conversational French. Friendly and supportive staff in a beautiful town. Will definitely go for two weeks the next time

Great French School A wonderful program to learn French. All the teachers were very supportive and interested in our progress. The accommodations were great as well. I cannot say enough good things about the village of Sancerre. I think that it is a wonderful place to learn French.

Coeur de France Course My husband and I recently completed a three-week immersion course. Marianne and Gérard are fully committed to bringing excellence and convenience to every student's stay. The course materials and pacing of the class instruction were excellent. Every instructor was outstanding. The school arranges unique opportunities such as exploring the region's famous industries, cooking French cuisine, wine tastings, trips to nearby towns, and such. The apartments are fully-equipped and you feel at-home in them. You definitely get full value for your money. Sancerre is a perfect place to explore, rain or shine. We left knowing that we would definitely return.

The best Language School for French In October I made my 4th visit to Coeur de France Ecole de Langues. I have studied French in many other schools and situations but their immersion classes are the best. There classes are small and intimate and can be tailored to fit each student's needs. They have very experienced teachers who are passionate about their teaching and that translates into an exciting learning environment. The accommodations provided by the school are also excellent and the environment of the small village of Sancerre is a perfect place to have the best language immersion experience. It's just the best!

A wonderful experience! Gerard and Marianne have created a warm and welcoming school for anyone who wants to learn French and improve their conversational skills and familiarity with French culture. Marianne is especially responsive to the needs of the students and checks on your progress to be sure that you are in the right class. I especially enjoyed the Sancerre wine-tasting and the cooking class experience. My apartment was lovely and tres chairmant! I will always remember my time at Coeur de France.

A great place to relax and learn some french in a quiet little village. I had always wanted to do a language immersion course, and had a last minute opportunity to come to Coeur de France. I only had one week available; two is better, but I'll go back! The owners and faculty are friendly, patient, helpful, and eager. They do their best to work you into a class of your level. Very relaxed learning and they make it fun. Sancerre is a great little quiet village, with several nice restaurants and cafes. I had a car to get to the grocery store and to tour on the weekend, and I recommend that if you stay longer than one week. Also, it's not so easy to get from the train station in Cosne-Cours-sur-Loire up to Sancerre, so a car came in very handy. Their excursions are great; I went on every one that week, but you might run out of their excursions if you stay a second week, and then the car is useful to explore on your own. But do your homework and don't spend all your evenings drinking wine with your new friends! I plan to go back with my wife and spend two weeks next time. I recommend staying in the village. I booked too late to stay in one of their rooms, but everyone who did was very satisfied! If you stay in a room without anywhere to do your homework, the Cafe de Libraire is great to sit and study with a glass of Sancerre wine!

Language Immersion in Stunning Sancerre This was my first solo trip overseas and thanks to the warm family atmosphere of Coeur de France language school, I loved every minute of it! I am a beginner in French, and I found everyone related to the school to be incredibly supportive, kind and patient! As students, we were encouraged to venture into town and visit the bakery, the cheese shop, the cafe's - and order in French. In my case in was very limited French, but the kind shop owners immediately recognized me as a student of the school and would smile and help me. The additional excursions were well worth the additional cost and I highly recommend doing everything you possibly can. If you want the atmosphere of a quiet, peaceful medieval French village and want to learn or improve your French, I highly recommend Coeur de France de Langues! I plan on returning, and maybe next time bring the entire family!
