The XVIth century La Thaumassière château in Sancerre is home to Coeur de France Ecole de Langues. Classrooms occupy the ground floor and deluxe apartments exclusively for student rental are located on the upper floors. Click on the photo for a short history of this historic building.
Coeur de France French school is located in the vineyards of Sancerre, in the Loire Valley’s wine country, only 2 hours south of Paris. The winding medieval streets and charming homes of our hilltop town have a fairy tale quality — and in the heart of it all sits the 16th century La Thaumassière château, home of Coeur de France Ecole de Langues.
Easily accessible by car or train, we are geographically in the center of France surrounded by vineyards, cathedrals and chateaux.

The family atmosphere at Coeur de France French language school is professional, yet relaxed, friendly and FUN! We’re located in the famous Loire Valley winemaking town of Sancerre (pop. 1500).Sancerre boasts more than 300 small family-owned wineries making Pouilly Fumé, Sancerre Sauvignon Blanc and red Pinot Noir wines. This is French country life at its finest with outdoor markets, charming village cafés, and relaxed friendly people.
When not in French class, there is much to do in our area. Wine tasting, swimming, horseback riding, kayaking/canoeing on the Loire River, hiking, golfing, tennis — it’s all here!

Coeur de France provides all levels of instruction (Beginner I, II; Intermediate I, II; Advanced) in an authentic total immersion format. Accommodation in private, fully-furnished self-catering apartments on site for as little as 620 euros per week — with free wireless highspeed Internet access. If you prefer off-site accommodation, we offer 1-4 bedroom apartments within walking distance, also at very attractive weekly rates.
